I am proud to call the 39th Ward “home.”
My husband Rory and I are the proud parents of three children. As a working mom, active community member, and trained lawyer, I have experience creating real impact in areas that matter most. I know how to build consensus and turn ideas into action.
My professional career includes service to the Cook County Department of Homeland Security and Emergency Management, the British Consulate and the Illinois Attorney General. I earned a Bachelor of Arts in Political Science from the University of Connecticut and a Juris Doctor from the Loyola University Chicago School of Law. I'm a 5-time Chicago marathon runner, avid reader, and interior design enthusiast. I’m currently working on my green thumb.
I am grateful for my neighbors’ support during my first term as Alderman. Together, we can make our community better than it’s ever been.
since 2019, I’ve taken major steps to improve our ward:
Increased funding for neighborhood schools and spearheaded major capital improvement projects to improve student learning outcomes
Brought emerging crime-fighting technologies and more officers to the ward
Created new parks, supported existing parks with renovated spaces, repaved streets, and beautified our neighborhoods to improve quality of life
Established a Participatory Budgeting process to empower taxpayers
Authored and passed a single-use plastics ban ordinance to reduce pollution and waste
Extended the North Park Village Easement in perpetuity
Created new economic hubs through a Montrose-Elston-Pulaski Special Service Area
Protected our most vulnerable populations, like our seniors, from COVID-19
Revitalized major business corridors after COVID-19
Created a mutual aid fund and ensured local employers could keep their doors open in a safe manner, so employees could keep working and supporting their families during the pandemic
